چکیده
The Gulf of Mexico Research Consortium ( Consorcio de Investigación del Golfo México (CIGoM), 2020 ) was founded in 2015 as a consortium scientific research and consulting services, specializing multidisciplinary projects related to the potential environmental impacts natural human-induced oil spills marine ecosystems, understand act case possible large-scale Mexico. CIGoM comprises more than 300 specialized researchers trained at most recognized Mexican institutions. Among main interests are developing first baseline bacterial community inhabiting southern Mexico, investigating degradation hydrocarbons by communities microbial consortia identifying characterizing industrially relevant enzymes. In this review, using third-generation sequencing methodologies coupled function screening methodologies, we report profile found samples water sediments regions that include Perdido Fold Belt (northwest Mexico), Campeche Knolls (in southeast) Southwest region We also highlight some examples novel lipases dioxygenases with high biotechnological culturable hydrocarbon-degrading strains used diverse bioremediation processes.

Phenol and phenol compounds are environmental pollutants present in industrial wastewaters such as, coal tar, oil refineries and petrochemical plants exist. Phenol removal from industrial effluent is extremely important in protection of environment. Recently phenol biodegradation has been considered. Marine bacteria are the most important phenol biodegrader. In this study, the phenol-degrading ...

متن کاملSuccession of hydrocarbon-degrading bacteria in the aftermath of the deepwater horizon oil spill in the gulf of Mexico.
The Deepwater Horizon oil spill produced large subsurface plumes of dispersed oil and gas in the Gulf of Mexico that stimulated growth of psychrophilic, hydrocarbon degrading bacteria. We tracked succession of plume bacteria before, during and after the 83-day spill to determine the microbial response and biodegradation potential throughout the incident. Dominant bacteria shifted substantially ...
متن کاملCharacterization of naphthalene-degrading bacteria isolated from the Persian Gulf and the Caspian Sea as potential agents for naphthalene removal from polluted environments
Over fifty bacterial strains were isolated from seawater samples in the presence of naphthalene as a sole source of carbon and energy. Among them, three isolates with higher growth rate and naphthalene degradation ability were selected for further studies. Biochemical and molecular analysis revealed that two Persian Gulf isolates, strain PG-10 and strain PG-48 belonged to the group of hydrocarb...
